POSITION

The Creator Fellowship at DDF is a unique opportunity for emerging digital creators who are passionate about social change and savvy in digital storytelling to shape how DDF connects with a broader, more diverse audience. As a Creator Fellow, you will partner closely with DDF's Influence & Marketing team to develop digital content that amplifies DDF’s mission, values and the work of its grantees.

This pilot fellowship is part of our effort to expand our impact by connecting with new audiences through imaginative digital storytelling. We’re seeking a digitally fluent, culturally- aware creator with a sharp point of view and a passion for social change.

YOUR IMPACT AT DDF

As a Creator Fellow, you will:

  • Produce Compelling Content That Amplifies DDF’s Mission
  •  Create original, high-quality digital content, including short-form videos, visual graphics, and editorial series, that brings visibility to the foundation’s work and engages new audiences with DDF’s history, values and impact.
  •  Develop and execute one or more narrative-driven series (e.g., docu-style videos, visual essays, social-first storytelling arcs) that reflect your unique creative lens.
  • Chronicle your own creator journey through vlogs, visual essays, or process content to inspire future fellows and provide transparency into the digital creative process at DDF.
  • Increase Digital Reach and Engagement Across Platforms
  •  Adapt content for multiple platforms using audience behavior insights and analytics, collaborating with the Influence & Marketing team to meet established goals related to reach, growth and engagement.
  • Contribute to Strategic Campaigns and Ideation
  •  Participate in campaign development and creative brainstorming that align with DDF’s program milestones and cultural moments.
  • Perform other work, including special projects, as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL GAIN

  • Real-world content experience with mission-driven storytelling.
  • Opportunities to shape how a mission-driven organization adapts to a rapidly changing world.
  • A platform to develop your voice as a creator.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Demonstrated experience creating your own digital content from conception through capture, development, editing and publishing across widely used social and digital platforms.
  • Proven skills in social-first storytelling, including the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging content for a variety of audiences.
  • Cultural fluency and care in how stories are framed, including good judgment around tone, context and representation
  • Comfort appearing on camera and/or conducting formal interviews in the field.
  • Video editing experience is required.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and integrate feedback in an approval-driven environment.
  • Strong digital skills with experience in Adobe Creative Suite (proficiency in Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects preferred).
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; a team player and self-starter who balances taking initiative and working across a distributed team.
  • Interest in journalism a plus.
  • Ability to work outside traditional business hours, including weekends and evenings, as well as willingness to travel to events and meetings held offsite.

We recognize that not every candidate will meet every qualification listed. If you are passionate about our mission and believe you have the skills and experience to perform the essential functions of this role, we encourage you to apply.
