What are the responsibilities and job description for the Columbarium Installer / Field Service & Sales Representative position at Doric Products, Inc.?
Key responsibilities
• Travel to customer sites and install columbarium and associated products per company specs and site requirements.
• Assemble units at the home office in Corbin, KY as needed.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, installation manuals, and work orders.
• Operate or coordinate with crane operators and other heavy equipment for installations.
• Provide on-site demonstrations, customer training, and clear customer communication.
• Report job status, materials used, time, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and consumables; request replenishment.
• Follow company safety protocols; maintain a clean, professional worksite.
• Escalate complex technical issues to project manager; assist with estimates, site surveys, and post-install follow-ups as required.
• Represent the company in sales activities during travel.
Required skills & qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–3 years hands-on installation, field service, or related experience preferred.
• Proficient reading basic schematics and site plans.
• Competent with hand and power tools.
• Strong problem-solving, time management, and customer-service skills.
• Comfortable working in varied outdoor environments (cemeteries, parks).
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; able to cross international borders.
• Basic computer/smartphone literacy (email, navigation, mobile work orders).
Desired certifications
• Forklift and lifting equipment certification beneficial (training available).
Travel, schedule & equipment
• Regular travel within assigned territory; overnight stays and air travel as needed.
• Flexible schedule — may include early starts, late finishes, and weekends.
• Reliable personal vehicle for airport trips (mileage or per diem policy).
• Company provides major tools, PPE, diagnostic equipment, and parts kit.
Training & onboarding
• Orientation on company policies, safety, tools, and systems.
• Job-specific technical training and field shadowing with senior installer until competency demonstrated.
Performance metrics
• Installation quality (first-time completion, rework frequency).
• On-time arrival and job completion rates.
• Customer satisfaction and accurate documentation/inventory usage.
• Safety record and adherence to protocols.
Compensation & benefits
