Description
The purpose of this job is to install, maintain, repair and replace computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment; to provide effective user support; and to perform related technical work as required. This job is responsible for support at 15 county locations and is required to periodically work at various sites.
This position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Install and configure desktop computers, printers, and other desktop peripherals such as monitors, scanners and cameras etc.; install and support various software and train customers in the use of hardware and software.
Create and maintain desktop deployment images.
Deliver laptop computers, set up and train customers in their use.
Analyze failed equipment and perform repairs or return equipment to vendor, review and test vendor repairs.
Provide technical support in diagnosing and solving problems by telephone or remote access.
Respond to help desk trouble tickets according to urgency and priority levels; document all actions taken to resolve service requests; create knowledge base articles where necessary
Participate in projects related to PC deployment, software and hardware procurement, or hardware consolidation.
Develop documentation of standard operating procedures as they relate to assignments.
Assist users with log-on authentication; instruct users in data handling best practices.
Perform research to resolve problems or refer to higher level staff.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other employees, and end users prioritizing principles of good customer service.
Assist in video recording and presentation displays during all county Council meetings and other meetings as assigned.
Maintain and track inventory including but not limited to computers, laptops, and related peripheral equipment using asset management tracking software.
Perform yearly asset Audits of computers, laptops, and related peripheral equipment.
Assists other personnel to expedite completion of their work activities and projects.
Assists in assigning work and work priorities to other team members from ticket queue.
Elevates tickets to next tier support level.
Participates in on-call rotation as necessary.
Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
THIS POSITION MAY BE FILLED AT ANY LEVEL.

PC LAN SPECIALIST I ($56,591.54 - $62,250.69)
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Graduation or GED equivalent. AND
Three years of computer/network maintenance, desktop support or related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Qualifications, Certifications and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
CompTIA A is preferred.
PC LAN SPECIALIST II ($59,421.12 - $65,363.23)
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
Five years of computer/network maintenance, desktop support, applications support or related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Qualifications, Certifications and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
CompTIA A and CompTIA Network /CCNA or other relevant computer system networking certification required.
PC LAN SPECIALIST III - (62,392.18 - $68,631.39)
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Graduation or GED equivalent. Associate/bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
Seven years of computer/network maintenance, desktop support, application support or related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Qualifications, Certifications and Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
CompTIA A , CompTIA Network /CCNA or other relevant computer system networking certification, and CompTIA Security or other relevant computer system security certification required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but employees must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and must work 40 hour each week (38 when on-call) to maintain full-time status. Employees must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays during emergencies or as requested. Rotate shifts in the Emergency Operations Center during critical events on a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week status as assigned until the event is complete.
