What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hurlock Library Clerk - Hourly (15 hours per week) position at Dorchester County Public Library?
The Hurlock Branch of the Dorchester County Public Library is currently seeking an hourly Library Clerk. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Answering phones and recording messages
- Record management
- Handling and recording monetary transactions
- Checking materials in and out
- Providing reference assistance
- Performing opening and closing procedures
- Ability to work alone
- Creating displays and promotional materials
- Shelving materials
- Assisting patrons with the use of library computers, copiers and other library equipment
- Attending and participating in library meetings, workshops and training sessions
Excellent computer and customer service skills are required. The right candidate will be able to work with patrons of all ages, including children and teens. The position also requires bending, reaching, and lifting objects up to 20 pounds.
This position includes a 15 hour work week. All staff members work one evening per week and alternating Saturdays.
