Welders – Beginner to Experienced – Multiple Positions

Job Description:
Dorchester Canopies seek welders at all levels to work in a full-time position at their Middlebury, Vermont location.
The applicant should have MIG welding experience. Some knowledge of working with aluminum or other metal would be highly desirable.
Experience and Qualification:
- Minimum of 1 - 5 years' of MIG experience -- TIG, STICK, PIPE WELDING a PLUS.
- Basic ability to read and work from blueprints or shop drawings with an understanding of welding symbols and settings.
- Read and understand tape measurements.
- Layout / tack weld assemblies.
- Operate press brake, shear, iron worker / punch, & drill press.
- Operate overhead crane & forklift.
- Torch & saw cut materials.
- Grind & clean materials / assemblies.
- Properly label materials.
- Preparation of materials for powder coating.
- Load, band, and stack materials in an orderly manner.
- Assist in loading and unloading deliveries.
- Maintain safe operating procedures.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to prioritize projects and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift at least 80 lbs.
- Follow safety procedures and protocol.
- Dependable and hardworking.
- Willingness to learn and get along with co-workers.
- Read and write English.
- Computer skills will be plus.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
- Can-do attitude.
