Job Summary
The Merchandiser position is responsible for executing in-store merchandising strategies to maximize the visibility and sales of the food products we represent across assigned retail locations on Long Island. This role is crucial for ensuring product freshness, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and fostering strong working relationships with store staff.
Key Responsibilities
- In-Store Merchandising & Display Execution:
- Merchandise products in-store according to designated store planograms.
- Pack out all locations for our brands, including primary shelf space, promotional displays, and seasonal displays.
- Affix and maintain Point-of-Sale (POS) and sales tags where applicable.
- Inventory Management & Product Integrity:
- Maintain inventory levels by monitoring stock both on the shelf and in back stock.
- Coordinate replenishment needs directly with store buyers.
- Ensure product freshness by rotating code dates on the shelf and in back stock rooms (FIFO - First-In, First-Out).
- Relationship Management & Communication:
- Build and maintain good relationships with key store personnel (e.g., order writers, department managers, receiving staff).
- Communicate effectively and regularly with internal sales and management teams regarding store activity, performance, and issues.
Qualifications
- Experience & Skills:
- Previous experience in merchandising, grocery, or retail is preferred.
- Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong visual and organizational skills.
- Requirements:
- A valid Driver’s License and Vehicle is required for travel between store locations.
- Ability to work independently and manage a travel schedule efficiently.
- Ability to handle physical tasks, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
