Responsibilities
- Install new garage doors, including hanging doors, attaching hardware, and ensuring proper alignment using hand tools and power tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute precise installations
- Perform maintenance, adjustments, and repairs on existing garage doors and openers to ensure optimal operation
- Conduct heavy lifting of door components, frames, and hardware safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Use welding skills when necessary for custom fabrication or reinforcement of door components
- Apply caulking, trim carpentry, and metal stud framing techniques during installation processes
- Collaborate with team members on construction site projects, ensuring timely completion of tasks
Requirements
- Proven experience with garage door installation or related construction work
- Strong mechanical knowledge of garage door systems, including springs, cables, rollers, and openers
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as drills, wrenches, screwdrivers, as well as power tools like saws and grinders
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
- Experience reading blueprints or schematics related to construction or mechanical systems
- Knowledge of welding techniques for fabrication or reinforcement purposes
- Construction site experience with familiarity in framing, remodeling, electrical work (preferred)
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety standards and quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation; ability to travel between job sites as needed
