Position Summary
The Production Foreman leads and directs daily shop operations to ensure the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of custom wood doors, mouldings, and architectural millwork. This role is the primary leader on the production floor, responsible for managing workflow, coordinating labor, and driving accountability to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Working closely with the Production Manager, Sales Coordinators, CAD, CAM, Pre-Hang, and Installation teams, the Production Foreman ensures projects are executed according to specifications, timelines, and customer expectations. This role translates project requirements into actionable shop plans while maintaining a strong focus on craftsmanship, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge of millwork production who takes full ownership of the production floor, team performance, and project outcomes. Success in this role requires clear, proactive communication and the ability to align Production, Sales, Delivery, and Installation teams around priorities and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, supervise, and support production team members across all shop activities
- Assign daily tasks and manage labor resources to align with production priorities
- Provide hands-on guidance, training, and mentorship
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, quality, and teamwork
- Monitor performance and address issues related to productivity, quality, attendance, or behavior
- Set clear expectations, reinforce priorities, and hold team members accountable for results
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in woodworking, manufacturing, construction management, or a related field preferred
- 8 years of experience in millwork, woodworking, or custom manufacturing environments
- 3–5 years of experience in a leadership role (Foreman, Lead, or Supervisor)
- Strong technical knowledge of architectural millwork, including doors, mouldings, and pre-hanging processes
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and work orders
- Proven experience managing production schedules, labor planning, and workflow coordination
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and deliver projects on time and to quality standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in high-end custom millwork or luxury residential projects
- Lean manufacturing or process improvement experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Compensation:
$28.00 - $30.00 per hour
