Independent Contract Delivery Driver (Cargo Van Required)

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, dedicated Independent Contract Delivery Driver with their own cargo van to handle a consistent, long-term local route. You will be responsible for transporting small to medium-sized packages safely and efficiently. This is a 1099 independent contractor position offering a steady daily rate and a predictable schedule.

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: $200.00 per day
• Schedule: Dedicated 7-day route (Monday – Sunday)
• Hours: Typically 4 to 10 hours per day (dependent on daily volume and driver efficiency)

Payroll Terms

• Hold Period: There is a 2-week payroll hold for all new drivers.
• First Paycheck: On your third Friday, you will receive payment for your first five (5) days worked.
• Frequency: Following the first check, payroll is issued weekly every Friday.

Route Details

• Daily Volume: Average of 90–100 packages per day (low-volume days may range between 60–80 packages).
• Daily Mileage: Average route covers approximately 58 to 70 miles.
• Pacing: Highly dense delivery area; most stops are only a few minutes apart.
• Package Sizes: Generally small to medium-sized parcels. Maximum weight limits can reach up to 300 lbs for larger items (appropriate loading equipment recommended).

Driver Responsibilities & Contract Terms

• Ensure the safe, timely, and secure delivery of all assigned packages every single day.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent service at all drop-off locations.
• Route Reliability: As an independent contractor, you are fully responsible for ensuring your assigned route is completed daily.
• Absence Policy: If you are unable to work on a specific day, you must source, arrange, and vet a qualified replacement driver in advance to ensure service is uninterrupted.
• Contractual Penalty: Failure to service the route without providing an approved replacement driver will result in a $300.00 absence charge ($190.00 to cover the missed operational costs a $110.00 contractual penalty).

• Proof of Commercial Auto Insurance or active vehicle liability policy
• Vehicle Registration for your cargo van
• W-9 Form (for 1099 independent contractor tax purposes)
• Direct Deposit Form or voided check for weekly payroll processing

Vehicle & Equipment Requirements

• Must own or lease a reliable Cargo Van (e.g., Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster, Chevy Express, Mercedes Sprinter). SUVs, sedans, and pickup trucks will not be accepted.
• Must have a personal hand truck, dolly, or appropriate material handling equipment.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull packages up to 300 lbs using your equipment.
• Strong time-management skills and comfort navigating local routes.
• Previous experience in courier, route delivery, or independent contractor driving is preferred but not required.
