What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician - Laboratory Services - Casual Call position at Door County Medical Center?
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) independently perform clinical laboratory procedures in all areas of the laboratory including blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology and microbiology. MLSs use their expertise to accurately interpret, document, and report out test results to support the delivery of high-quality patient care. By performing quality control testing, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting they verify the analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and reference ranges for test methods. They routinely communicate professionally with colleagues, providers and other team members and serve as a resource for lab based questions. They are an integral part of the patient care team, supporting effective and efficient diagnosis and treatment.
Credential / Licensure Required :
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP)
- Eligibility for certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency Education :
- Diploma
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, human sciences or education qualifications as stated per CLIA requirements.
Shift : Working Casual Call, meaning you work as needed.
Casual Call positions are offered an additional 10% differential on top of the base hourly rate.
