What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Health Information Management/Privacy Officer - Full-time position at Door County Medical Center?
The Manager of Health Information Management/Privacy Officer provides leadership and oversight to all health information functions, ensuring effective planning, implementation, and evaluation of HIM operations while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards. This role manages and develops HIM staff; oversees coding, clinical data integrity, tumor registry, Chargemaster, and medical records operations; coordinates departmental activities; and serves as Custodian of Medical Records. Additionally, the manager ensures compliance with HIPAA and state privacy regulations, managers privacy issues and audits, and delivers organization-wide training and education on privacy and compliance practices.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- Master’s degree preferred
Related Years of Experience Required:
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in HIM/coding with supervisory experience
- 3 years of experience with EPIC EMR system required.
Credential/Licensure Required:
- RHIA or RHIT credential (AHIMA)
- Certification in Healthcare Privacy and Security (AHIMA or other recognized credentialing organization)
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or similar certification.
Shift: Working 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday, day shift.
Education
Required- Bachelors or better in Health Information Management
- Masters or better in Health Information Management

Required- CERTIFIED CODING SPEC
- REG HEALTH INFOR ADMIN
