Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage financial records and ensure accurate accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various accounting software and principles, including GAAP, and possess excellent organizational skills. This role offers an opportunity to work with management teams to provide essential financial support and analysis.
Duties
- Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, and Excel.
- Perform general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation
- Prepare journal entries, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage payroll functions
- Conduct bank reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Assist with budgeting, financial report writing, and financial statement preparation in compliance with GAAP standards
- Support tax preparation activities and ensure adherence to governmental accounting regulations
- Handle double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation tasks
- Provide technical accounting support for various projects and ensure compliance with industry standards
Requirements
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Excel and similar platforms
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, and public accounting practices
- Knowledge of GAAP standards, financial concepts, double entry bookkeeping, and tax regulations
- Proficiency in bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis accurately
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred
- Experience with financial report writing and budgeting processes
- Strong analytical skills combined with effective communication abilities
- Relevant certifications or degree in Accounting or Finance are preferred but not required
