What are the responsibilities and job description for the Opener - Convenience Store Sales Associate position at Dooley's Petroleum?
Primary schedule is 3:00am-11:00am shift Monday-Friday
A Sales Associate is responsible to ensure guest satisfaction by processing transactions efficiently and professionally, maintaining the overall store appearance and properly preparing all deli products. The Sales Associate is also responsible for maintaining proper control of all cash and product and ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to process information/merchandise through computer or POS register system
- Ability to communicate professionally with guests and co-workers
- Ability to read, count and write accurately to complete all documentation
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to operate, use and properly care for all store equipment
- Ability to lift, handle or move merchandise throughout the store generally weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work varied hours/day
- Ability to work as a team and independently with minimal supervision, self-motivated
- Completes other duties as assigned by Management
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in a retail environment. Either as a cashier or in sales
- Honest, dependable, friendly, hard working, works well with others
- Exceptional customer service and organizational ability, high attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to regularly lift 0-50 pounds
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to reach overhead repeatedly
- Ability to bend/stoop/squat frequently and occasionally for extended periods of time
- Exposure to outside weather conditions, walk in coolers & freezers, frequently & occasionally
