Cannabis Inventory Manager

Job Summary

Doobiez is seeking an experienced and highly organized Cannabis Inventory Manager to oversee inventory operations at our licensed retail dispensary in West Milford, New Jersey.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with METRC, Dutchie Backoffice, and Dutchie Admin, along with a strong understanding of cannabis inventory controls, product receiving, compliance, reconciliation, and reporting. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain accurate inventory records in a highly regulated retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily receipt, storage, movement, and tracking of cannabis products.
• Accurately receive purchase orders and verify products against invoices, manifests, quantities, package tags, and testing information.
• Maintain accurate inventory records across METRC, Dutchie Backoffice, and Dutchie Admin.
• Reconcile physical inventory with METRC and Dutchie records.
• Conduct regular cycle counts, spot checks, and comprehensive inventory audits.
• Identify, investigate, document, and correct inventory discrepancies.
• Create and manage METRC manifests, transfers, package adjustments, and other required inventory activities.
• Maintain accurate product information, categories, strains, pricing, SKUs, barcodes, potency data, and product availability within Dutchie.
• Ensure inventory rooms and storage areas remain organized, secure, clean, and compliant.
• Monitor product expiration dates and recommend strategies for aging or slow-moving inventory.
• Manage damaged, defective, returned, quarantined, expired, recalled, and discontinued products according to company procedures and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate with purchasing, management, vendors, transportation providers, and retail staff to ensure accurate product intake and availability.
• Maintain organized records of invoices, manifests, testing documents, package tags, adjustments, destruction, and other inventory documentation.
• Prepare inventory, variance, aging, sales, and compliance reports for management.
• Assist with product recalls, investigations, corrective actions, and regulatory inspections.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce inventory-control procedures and SOPs.
• Train employees on proper inventory handling, receiving, product movement, and compliance procedures.
• Maintain strict adherence to Doobiez policies and New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission requirements.
• Perform additional operational and compliance duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Previous inventory-management experience in a licensed cannabis dispensary or cannabis business.
• Hands-on METRC experience is required.
• Hands-on Dutchie Backoffice and Dutchie Admin experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of cannabis receiving, package tracking, manifests, adjustments, reconciliation, and audit procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and clearly document corrective actions.
• Proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, inventory reports, and point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with management and retail staff.
• Ability to handle confidential business and compliance information responsibly.
• Must be at least 21 years old and satisfy all eligibility requirements for employment in a New Jersey-licensed cannabis establishment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience supervising an inventory department or inventory team.
• Familiarity with New Jersey cannabis regulations and retail compliance requirements.
• Experience preparing for regulatory inspections and internal inventory audits.
• Experience managing high-volume retail inventory.
• Purchasing, receiving, compliance, or dispensary-management experience.

Schedule and Physical Requirements

• Full-time availability, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive inventory tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to safely lift and move inventory boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with cannabis-industry experience, METRC and Dutchie proficiency, and overall qualifications, with pay of up to $35.00 per hour.
