Job Summary:
We are hiring a Receiving Lead to join our team!
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented professional to oversee our receiving department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating incoming shipments, verifying inventory, and ensuring all products are received accurately and efficiently.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily receiving operations.
- Inspect and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams.
- Receive goods and verify the quantity and condition of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; compare against supplier documentation and report any discrepancies immediately to carriers, supervisors, and the purchasing department in accordance with company policy.
- Prepare bills of lading and drayage tickets for shipments.
- Complete documentation for damage claims related to in-transit issues.
- Transport materials within the receiving dock using a hand truck or other equipment as needed.
- Provide necessary documentation and data to accounting and other departments for payment processing and recordkeeping.
- Restock inventory, supplies, and special orders as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
- Basic understanding of dock and warehouse procedures.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Previous warehouse or receiving experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Forklift experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
- Must be able to complete various activities in the warehouse that may require hours of lifting over 50 pounds, standing, and carrying.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
