Overnight Security
Salary Range $19.00- $20.20 per hour (experience-based compensation)
Position Summary:
Our Overnight Security is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all guests, employees, and hotel property. This includes maintaining a secure environment by monitoring activities, responding to emergencies, and promptly and effectively addressing security concerns.
Essential Functions:
- Escort guests to their rooms when necessary.
- Assist with overnight room deliveries and housekeeping/maintenance requests.
- Patrol the building multiple times throughout the night to ensure that all is in order per hotel standards.
- Handle unruly guests.
- Prepare shift reports.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and change security tapes per standards.
- Respond to emergencies as needed.
- Walk through public areas to check for safety violations.
- Investigate and take first reports for accidents, injuries, and/or disturbances that take place in the hotel.
- Call the police when necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of the hotel's emergency procedures.
- Escort employees to their cars when necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
- The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands, and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.
Education and Experience:
- Previous security experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to handle pressure situations calmly.
- Ability to work independently.
