What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Power Systems Electrician position at Donnelley Financial Solutions (DFIN)?
About The Role
Our 24/7 manufacturing operation relies on reliable power and precise controls. As a Plant Power Systems Electrician, you will keep production running by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the electrical infrastructure that powers both equipment and facilities. You will blend hands-on electrical work with analytical problem solving, preventive care, and collaboration with engineering on upgrades and projects.
A Day in the Life
You begin by reviewing overnight logs from a plant that never sleeps. A production line throws a fault — you pull up the schematics, meter in hand, and isolate the issue. After implementing a code-compliant repair, you pivot to scheduled preventive maintenance to cut downtime and boost throughput. Later, you join an engineering huddle to plan a PLC controls enhancement for an upcoming equipment upgrade. Throughout the day, you draw on manuals, online resources, and vendor phone support to conquer complex challenges and keep operations steady.
