Assistant Athletic Coordinator: This position is a full time year-round schedule that will begin effective immediately.
- Must be a current Varsity Head Coach of a female sport.
- Have a working knowledge of UIL rules and guidelines and implement them in all sports assigned
- Mediate and perform administrative procedures for concerns or issues in all assigned sports dealing with coaches, parents or athletes.
- Establish a solid working relationship with the campus athletic coordinator and campus principal along with the two MS coordinators and establish an overall cooperative athletic standard for the campus and feeder schools.
- Be actively involved with the athletic office and assist and perform duties as assigned.
- Have an understanding of and support the DISD Athletic Handbook
- Attend coordinators’ meetings as scheduled by the athletic department.
- Promote DHS/DNHS Athletic Programs
- Report any maintenance issues to the building to the athletic department.
- Represent the district’s athletic program in a positive way to the public, other school districts, the UIL and other related organizations.
- Assist with planning and conducting needs assessments related to athletic operations.
- Meet regularly with staff in individual and group sessions.
- Develop individual and staff professional development plans.
- Counsel coaches on UIL rules and eligibility.
- Assist in supervising coaches, ensuring that they are teaching the same technical fundamentals and are operating within district policies.
- Supervise coaches at the high school and middle school level.
- Mediate and perform administrative procedures for concerns or issues in all assigned sports dealing with coaches, parents or athletes.
- Perform other tasks and assume such responsibilities as may be assigned.
- Attend multiple sporting events for support and supervision, administrator in charge for athletic events during the year which will include during “holiday breaks”.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the athletic coordinator/director
- Report to the campus athletic coordinator.
