Our Firm has an immediate opening for an experienced legal assistant to join our small, fast-paced, and growing family law firm.
General Responsibilities:
- Communicating regularly with clients
- Maintaining and managing client files by keeping documents reviewed/produced and organized
- Drafting pleadings, correspondence, and other documents as requested
- Gather evidence needed for trial and assemble trial notebooks
- Assist the attorneys during mediations, depositions, and trials
- Processing documents received
- Perform legal research when requested
- Represent the Firm with professionalism when dealing with clients and court officials
- Obtain documents from clients and opposing parties/counsel
- Other duties assigned by the attorneys, as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of legal work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- North Carolina Notary Public, or ability to obtain credentials within 90 days of hire date
Preferences:
- Family law experience in North Carolina
- Familiarity with Clio and research tools
