Oil/HVAC Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Diagnose HVAC issues by asking targeted, systematic questions during troubleshooting.
• Guide customers through system replacement options for units that are old, inefficient, or underperforming, keeping their needs front and center.
• Keep the job site tidy and organized, and maintain a well-stocked, inventoried service vehicle.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and help train newer staff.
• Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Supply your own professional-grade tools.
• Gas and A/C service experience is a plus, but not required.
• Diagnose and resolve heating and hot water system problems.
• Move efficiently between job sites to make the most of your workday.
• Handle customer concerns independently, with minimal oversight.
• Report back to the office with clear, detailed updates.

Skills

• High School diploma or a degree from a heating/cooling program at a technical school.
• Experience in heating, cooling and mechanical environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks.
• Good communication skills. Must be able to speak to customers in a way that’s not too technical.
• Able to work on-call and weekends as needed.
• Current driver’s license in good standing order.
