What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hygiene Dental Assistant position at Doniphan Family Dental/Anthony Smiles Dental?
We are looking for a full-time Registered Dental Assistant who is willing to learn and want to expand their dental assisting skills. Our growing office is looking for a detail oriented, well rounded, and outgoing dental assistant. Someone with exceptional customer service, a strong work ethic, initiative, and professional demeanor. Compensation will be based on experience. This position is to work 4 days a week M-F 830am -430pm with 1 hour lunch, for 2 locations Anthony Smiles Dental and Doniphan Family Dental. Do not Apply unless your will to work both locations.
Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
- Assist dental hygienist
- Setup and breakdown operatory post treatment
- Take dental radiographs (X-Rays)
- Manage infection control – prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following all dental treatment procedures
- Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to main oral health or post-op instructions.
- Perform efficient and accurate procedures to help maintain doctors' schedule and patient flow; create no patient wait time; maintain time flexibility for patient; be present, engaged, ready to work
- Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance
- Follow organizations safety policies and procedures
- Have knowledge and understanding of dental terminology sufficient to perform job successfully
- Verify patient health history (basic health review, medications, understanding impact with dentistry) and document appropriately in patients' chart
- Perform various office tasks as request or needed
Qualifications:
- Registered Dental Assistant (Required)
- X-Ray Certification (Required)
- High School or Equivalent (Preferred)
- Dental Assisting: willing to train the right person
- Bilingual (Spanish) (Preferred)
