Overview
The Human Resources Specialist - Generalist will assist in the Human Resources department in the areas of staffing, policies interpretation, the maintenance of personnel records, interviews, investigations, etc.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and regulations
- Hire employees and process hiring-related paperwork
- Maintain current knowledge of Human Resources regulations
- Prepare or maintain employment records related to hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using HIRS software
- Address employee relations issues
- Review employment applications and job orders to match applicants with job requirements
- Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities
- Schedule or conduct new employee new employee orientations
- Maintain and update human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms
- Confer with management to develop or implement personnel policies or procedures
- Contact job applicants to inform them of the status of their applications
- Conduct exit interviews and ensure necessary employment termination paperwork is completed
- Interview job applicants, making recommendations to managers
- Analyze employment-related data and prepare required reports
- Implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs
- Administer drug tests for prospective employees
- Conduct reference or background checks on job applicants
- Instrumental in planning and execution of employee morale activities

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Requirements:
Frequently sitting at a desk for extended periods of time with use of a computer
Must be able to lift and/or move 15 pounds alone
Will be in an office attached to a production plant which is dusty, dirty, and noisy.
Occasional work on the production floor, requiring wearing appropriate PPE (sleeves, glasses, and safety-toed shoes)
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
