Done Right Security, Inc. is currently seeking motivated, hard-working, and career-minded individuals to join our team! We believe in "doing it right" for our customers and employees. DRS is looking for team members who are as passionate as we are and have pride in their work. We are a small company but treat our customers and employees with respect and appreciation.

This is a "commission only" based position with no base salary/draw. However, there is unlimited potential earnings and no cap on commissions. We will pay a very generous 33% of gross margin dollars and recurring revenue. Annual goal/quota is $2M. Example: $2M in annual sales would generate $220,000 per year in commission. Job margin minimum required is also 33% in this example.

This job maybe be a good fit for someone who has a nest egg to get started, or/or retired and misses the industry. Candidate must be an expert in the security industry with at least 7 years of experience, industry contacts, and can hit the ground running. Experience with design/estimating and sale required. Experience design/estimating/selling access control, burglar/intrusion, cctv/video surveillance a must.

Besides leads generated from your own efforts/relationships, we will provide leads as well (construction, end-users, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and nurture relationships with potential clients by understanding their security needs and presenting tailored solutions.
  • Conduct detailed product demonstrations and technical presentations to showcase the value of our security systems.
  • Prepare accurate estimates for security system installations, considering site-specific requirements and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to ensure seamless transition from sales to installation, maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize analysis skills to evaluate client environments, recommend optimal security configurations, and identify upselling opportunities.
  • Manage pre-sales activities including site surveys, technical assessments, and proposal development.
  • Stay current with security industry trends to effectively communicate technical benefits.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in technical sales or pre-sales roles within security systems or related technology sectors.
  • Strong understanding of security system design, estimating and sales.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple client proposals simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated analysis skills to assess client environments and recommend suitable security solutions.
  • Ability to deliver compelling product demos that clearly articulate technical features and benefits.

Bay Area commuting will be required from your home to your prospects, and/or office. Working from home is also permitted when necessary.

The Candidate MUST:

  • Have at least ten (10) years of experience in selling security systems.
  • Live within sixty (60) miles of Hayward, CA and be OK with daily driving in the Bay Area. We need road warriors!
  • Have a clean DMV record and pass background check.
  • Hit sales goals/quotas.
  • Generate new business (SGL's) as well as follow up on company leads. We need hunters, not just farmers. Must have contacts in the industry (electrical contractors, property managers, end-users, etc.).
  • Be able to design and estimate security systems based off job walks, plans/specs, etc.
  • Possess critical thinking skills as well the ability to effectively read, write and communicate with customers, management, and co-workers.
  • Follow instructions, learn new technologies, retain information, etc.
  • Be focused, organized and proactive.
  • Familiar with Microsoft software products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Be able to learn new business software programs (CRM, etc.).
  • Complete, maintain and submit daily activity reports.
  • Be self-motivated, work independently and with others, have a strong work ethic, high-quality standards of work, a positive approach, and present a professional image.
  • Adhere to company, customer, and industry safety standards and regulations.
  • Not use tobacco products in a company vehicle, company property, or customer property unless there is a designated tobacco use area.
  • Possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Possess a Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record, safe driving practices, and the ability to handle heavy traffic conditions safely and calmly.
  • Know or be willing to learn industry and company codes, standards, and best practices.

You will be responsible for selling low-voltage systems including: Access Control, Burglar/Intrusion Alarm, Call Box/Intercom/Telephone Entry and Vehicle Gate Operators.

Experience in these manufacturers a plus: 2N, Ademco, Aiphone, Alarm.com, Axis, Brivo, ButteflyMX, DSC, Digital-Watchdog, DoorKing, Exacq, Hanwha/Wisenet, HikVision, Honeywell, Isonas, Kantech, Door.com/Latch, LiftMaster, My Video Intercom, Qolsys, SwiftLane, Vista and Door Locking Hardware Manufacturers.

Compensation: Commission Only plus: Company Car, Paid Vacation and Holidays, Medical Benefits, 401K, Cell Phone, Etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The Candidate must:

  • Be able to drive, perform job walks, and use a computer and phone.
  • Be able to see and distinguish different colors, read the small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
  • Be drug-free and pass a criminal background check.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to the items listed above, the ideal candidate:

  • Exceeds quota.
  • Will have an extensive working knowledge of field electronics, computer hardware, software, and data networks.
  • Provide leadership and/or project management on projects.
  • Act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s).
