Extrusion Operator

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Plastic Sheet Extrusion Operator with CNC Machinery experience to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining plastic sheet extrusion equipment to produce high-quality plastic sheets used in various packaging applications. Your expertise in plastics extrusion, machinery operation, and quality inspection will ensure efficient production processes and adherence to safety standards.

Duties

• Set up, operate, and monitor plastic sheet extruders, ensuring optimal performance and product quality
• Adjust machine parameters using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to maintain consistent film thickness and properties
• Conduct routine inspections of the extruder, die heads, and ancillary equipment for proper functioning and safety compliance
• Perform quality checks on finished sheets using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers, ensuring specifications are met
• Handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse equipment, supporting materials handling and inventory management
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues with extrusion machinery, including press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC machines, and fabrication tools
• Maintain detailed production logs, shift reports, and quality documentation to support continuous improvement initiatives like lean manufacturing practices

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating plastic sheet extruders or extrusion machinery in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in plastics injection molding, fabrication, machining, and hand tools
• Knowledge of running CNC machinery equipment and troubleshooting
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and use precision measuring instruments accurately
• Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine automation adjustments
• Valid forklift certification and warehouse experience preferred for materials handling tasks
• Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to film thickness and machine settings
• Knowledge of quality inspection procedures and the use of micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction

Shift Availability

Full-Time 12-hour shifts 7am-7pm & 7pm-7am

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
