An Automotive Technician Apprentice/Helper is an entry-level position in the automotive technology field. This position will work under the supervision of experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience and learn the necessary skills to become a fully qualified technician. The day-to-day tasks of an apprentice technician may include:
Duties
- Conduct vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Conducting routine inspections with videos and photos for the customer
- Assisting in carrying out diagnostic tests
- Undertaking general repair work
- Undertaking statutory training as may be required manufacturer
Skills
- Proficient in vehicle maintenance practices
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to read and interpret repair orders
- Must have the ability to lift 50lbs
- Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on building rapport with clients.
- Knowledge of minor automotive skills
- Experience using power tools safely in an automotive environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
