Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a seamless service experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, automotive knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Service Advisor will coordinate between customers and technicians, recommend necessary services, and ensure customer satisfaction with every interaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns
- Explain automotive repairs and maintenance needs clearly, providing accurate auto estimates
- Upsell additional services based on customer needs and vehicle diagnostics
- Coordinate with service technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work
- Manage service writing, work orders, and documentation accurately in the dealership management system
- Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, repairs performed, and future service recommendations
- Assist with vehicle inspections for transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, alignment, auto body repair, and other automotive services
- Provide exceptional customer service to foster loyalty and repeat business
- Stay updated on automotive repair procedures and dealership offerings to effectively communicate with customers
Experience
- Dealership experience is highly preferred
- Proven auto service management or service writing experience in a dealership or independent shop
- Strong background in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Experience with auto estimating software and upselling techniques
- Familiarity with various automotive systems including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, tire service, diesel engines, shocks & struts, alignments, air brakes, and auto body repair is advantageous
- Customer service experience with excellent communication skills is essential
- Knowledge of mechanic work or service technician roles enhances effectiveness in advising customers on repairs and maintenance options
Pay: $45,000.00 - $73,638.80 per year
