As a Youth Development Program Counselor, you'll help create a safe, supportive, and exciting afterschool environment where every child feels welcomed, encouraged, and inspired to reach their full potential. If you're looking for a job that truly matters, this is it!
What You'll Do
- Build positive, supportive relationships with youth.
- Supervise members and ensure a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.
- Lead engaging activities, games, and enrichment programs.
- Assist members with homework and academic success.
- Encourage positive behavior while serving as a role model.
- Prepare activity spaces and materials before programs begin.
- Monitor attendance and participate in daily program operations.
- Follow all Boys & Girls Club policies, safety procedures, and child protection standards.
What We're Looking For
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with children.
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Creative, energetic, and willing to jump into activities.
- Ability to manage groups of children in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience working with youth is preferred but not required.
Schedule
- Part-Time
- Afterschool hours (Monday–Friday, 2:30-6:00 PM)
- Additional hours may be available during school breaks, special events, and summer programs.
