DonahueFavret Contractors, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Commercial Construction Estimator to join our Pre-Construction team. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the estimating and bidding process to secure profitable work. From initial document review to final bid submission and project turnover, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our projects are competitively and accurately priced.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full estimating process for assigned projects — conceptual through final bid
- Perform quantity take-offs, pricing, bid summaries, and bid submissions
- Coordinate with subs/suppliers and manage bid day logistics
- Prepare budgets for negotiated work and design-build projects
- Analyze post-bid results and support project turnover to operations
- Maintain and update the estimating database
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field
- 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Strong understanding of unit costs, market trends, and cost drivers
Skills & Tools:
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, On-Screen Takeoff, and ICE
- Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with attention to detail
- Effective at building relationships with subcontractors and team members
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed
