Class A Driver

Purpose of position: To operate a delivery truck or similar vehicle to deliver beer, wine, and non alcoholic beverages. Responsibilities include customer service and running established local routes, executing all promotions, servicing all scheduled customers, merchandising all accounts to the company standards, filling coolers, racks and displays. Drivers are responsible to keep accurate route information on assigned accounts, maintain clean and well organized trucks, handle checks, cash, coins, invoices, and daily route settlement using correct procedures according to policy. This position is a full time position that requires an open flexible schedule and ability to work 40 hours per week. 

Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation). 

• Safely drive a company vehicle and/or tractor trailer 
• Unloads and transports product from the delivery vehicle into the customer’s loading area or sales floor, as directed by store personnel.
• Observes safety procedures and personnel policies.
• Regular attendance is required to be able to deliver exceptional customer service
• Utilizes hand trucks and pallet jacks to safely move product
• Stocking shelves, down stacking of product, and product rotation
• Building displays and handling of POS (Point of Sale) material
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, on short notice, including weekends, holidays and frequently in excess of 40 hours per week.
• Ability to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
• Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and ability to lift up to 150 lbs., with assistance, periodically.
• Ability to engage in frequent bending, stooping, stretching, and stepping up and down
• Regularly requires use of hands to grasp, handle, touch and grip  
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, while in a moving vehicle
• Must maintain a current class A, Commercial Driver License (CDL) and be insurable according to company standards 
• Regularly subjected to random drug testing per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSA)
• Able to posses and maintain a physical for DOT Medical Certification card.
• Other duties as assigned

Skills, knowledge and abilities: (these are required to enable job holder to perform the essential functions of the job).

• Conduct pre-trip inspections of delivery vehicle plus, complete truck maintenance check list on a daily basis
• Verify inventory counts when delivering product to customers
• Maintaining back stock of products, rotating products to maintain freshness, stocking shelves at accounts
• Keeping accurate records of invoices and payments received by accounts
• Providing customer service in a professional manner at all times
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate, verbally and written, with a variety of people
• Must maintain a neat and clean professional appearance at all times and adhere to company dress code standards
• Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate manager. 

Experience and Education Requirements:

High School diploma or GED preferred. Must have a good driving record, excellent customer service, communication skills, professional appearance, and comfortable with math. Commercial Driver License (CDL), Class A required. 

Working Conditions:

Extreme physical exertion, exposure to inclement weather, and exposure to fumes and noise from the truck. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility; walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; frequent stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, and twist; push, pull, lift, and/or carry moderate to heavy amounts of weights; operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and verbal communication to exchange information.
