Automotive Service Advisor

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our fast-paced dealership team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between customers and our service department, ensuring a seamless and positive experience from vehicle drop-off to pick-up. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and service writing will help you accurately assess customer needs, recommend appropriate repairs, and communicate effectively with both clients and technicians. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your sales skills, upselling abilities, and automotive repair knowledge to drive customer satisfaction and dealership success.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their vehicle concerns, and provide clear explanations of necessary repairs or maintenance services.
• Use estimating software to prepare accurate service estimates, including parts, labor, and additional recommendations.
• Identify additional service opportunities through upselling techniques while maintaining transparency and integrity.
• Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of services such as oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts, transmissions, air brake systems, and collision repairs.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle diagnostics, repair status, costs, and recommended services to enhance client satisfaction.
• Manage service write-ups efficiently using auto estimating tools and ensure all documentation complies with dealership standards.
• Handle cash transactions securely and accurately while maintaining a professional attitude at all times.
• Maintain detailed records of service orders, client interactions, and vehicle history for future reference.
• Promote dealership services through effective sales techniques and upselling strategies to maximize revenue opportunities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or in a similar auto service management role within a dealership environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience as a service technician or mechanic preferred.
• Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
• Ability to diagnose automotive issues using automotive diagnostics tools and provide accurate estimates for repairs such as brake repair, transmission work, suspension systems, tire service, shocks & struts, oil changes, air brake systems, etc.
• Demonstrated sales ability with experience in upselling automotive services and parts.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of collision repair processes is a plus but not required.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and client communication.
