What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworker/laborer position at Don Glasscock Farms L.L.C.?
Worker will manually plant, transplant, weed, thin, cultivate, prune and harvest rice, beans, pumpkins, and watermelon crops. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, long handle hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, trimming and cut stalks/vines with sharp instruments such as knives and shears. Workers will walk fields on uneven ground and may operate tractors. In addition, workers may be required to perform variable tasks relating to crop production such as hauling, ground preparation, applying pesticides, field packing, and loading harvested products. May construct trellises, repair fences, equipment and farm buildings, cleaning and other tasks related to general farming. Workers may participate in irrigation activities such as water management and water drainage/ field prep and repair of equipment.
Worker must have 2 months experience in general farming, operating 100hp tractors or greater. Workers must be able to lift 50 lbs and be able to communicate without line of sight.
Salary : $15
