Traveling Automotive Manager

Overview:

As a Traveling / Floating Automotive Store Manager, you will serve as a key leader across multiple locations, providing operational support, sales leadership, team development, and business continuity throughout our Maine market. This role will support our Don Foshay’s Automotive locations in Brunswick, Damariscotta, Hallowell, and South Portland, stepping in wherever leadership, coaching, operational oversight, or business needs arise.

The ideal candidate is a proven automotive leader with a passion for driving sales, developing high-performing teams, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will play a critical role in ensuring consistency across locations while helping stores achieve sales goals, operational excellence, and long-term growth.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Provide leadership and operational support across multiple Don Foshay’s Automotive locations throughout Maine
• Drive sales growth by coaching service advisors and managers on customer engagement, service recommendations, and closing opportunities
• Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and creating a customer-first culture
• Partner with store teams to achieve and exceed sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction goals
• Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including sales, car count, average repair order (ARO), gross profit, and customer retention
• Support staffing needs by assisting with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training team members
• Develop and mentor future leaders while creating accountability throughout the organization
• Conduct store visits, operational audits, and performance reviews to ensure consistency across locations
• Coach team members on sales processes, customer communication, operational execution, and leadership development
• Assist with employee relations, performance management, and team engagement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures
• Support stores during leadership transitions, vacations, staffing shortages, and periods of increased business demand
• Collaborate with regional leadership to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement
• Travel regularly between Brunswick, Damariscotta, Hallowell, and South Portland locations as business needs require
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall business success

You'll Bring with You:

• 5 years of automotive management experience with demonstrated success leading teams and driving sales performance
• Strong understanding of automotive repair, maintenance services, tire sales, and shop operations
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
• Experience managing key business metrics including sales, profitability, labor, productivity, and customer satisfaction
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities across multiple locations
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Experience with POS systems, digital inspections, and shop management software
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly between assigned locations
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
