Role Description
The College Success Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in Washington, DC. This role is responsible for supporting students' preparation for and transition to college, as well as providing guidance on college readiness throughout their high school experience. Day-to-day tasks include advising students on college applications and financial aid processes, conducting workshops, coordinating resources for academic and personal success, and building partnerships with colleges to support student enrollment and retention. The College Success Manager will also collaborate with staff, families, and external partners to create a pathway for students to thrive in higher education.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of college admissions processes, financial aid, and resources for first-generation college students or students from under-resourced communities
- Experience in academic advising, career counseling, or student support services
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, families, and external partners
- Effective communication and presentation skills suitable for delivering workshops and motivating students
- Organizational and time-management skills to juggle multiple responsibilities in an educational setting
- Competence in using technology for tracking student data, communication, and presentation purposes
- Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred
- Experience in education or working with diverse populations, including underrepresented communities, is a strong asset
