The Corporate Accountant - Development supports the accounting and development teams by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations and journal entries, review and record employee credit card expenses, processing deposits, and supporting month-end close activities. This role assists with financial reporting, intercompany transactions, and development-related accounting functions while ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial operations.

Position Summary
The Corporate Accountant - Development supports the accounting and development teams by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations and journal entries, review and record employee credit card expenses, processing deposits, and supporting month-end close activities. This role assists with financial reporting, intercompany transactions, and development-related accounting functions while ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial operations.
Essential Functions
- Record and code all transactions in the Development operating account, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established accounting procedures.
- Assist with processing and recording deposits for Dominium entities, maintaining complete and accurate supporting documentation.
- Prepare and review intercompany and Devlopment payables for accuracy, completeness, and timely processing.
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve account variances through research and collaboration with appropriate stakeholders.
- Reviews and processes employee expense reports in Concur, ensuring coding accuracy, policy compliance, appropriate documentation, and preparation of related journal entries.
- Prepare month-end journal entries, including allocations, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned closing activities.
- Prepare sales and use tax worksheet monthly.
- Prepare and analyze development reconciliation schedules and financial trend reports, identifying variances and providing supporting explanations as needed.
- Research and respond to ad hoc accounting questions and requests, providing accurate and timely information to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in special projects, process improvement initiatives, and other assignments as directed to support departmental and organizational objectives.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance in accordance with company policies and business needs.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
- Minimum 2 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Experience with Yardi or other accounting software preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial processing
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including experience interacting with vendors
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
