Warehouse Associate
Position Summary:
In this position, you will perform various warehouse activities as well as receive, sort, pack, load, and unload freight. You will organize and prepare freight for shipment. Keen attention to detail is a must, as you will be inspecting freight for damage and reporting damages as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under tight deadlines, performs duties such as sorting, packing, loading, unloading containers
palletizing and separation of freight/documents.
- Ensures all delivery material is prepared for shipment
- Operates a scanner to record shipping and package information for documents/packages picked up or delivered.
- Operate sit-down forklift.
- Reports any suspected breach of security or unusual happenings to supervisor immediately.
- Exhibit good work ethic such as reporting to work on time and adhering to standard work and safety procedures.
- May be required to assist supervisor in training, assigning and checking the work of other warehouse associates. As well as assist supervisor in maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse.
- Must be able to tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Shift Requirements:
You may be required to work either one of 3 shifts; a split shift, an AM shift or a PM shift:
AM Shift:
- Sunday 8am-until finished (depending on volume)
- Monday 6am-until finished (usually 1.5-2.5 hours daily)
- Tuesday to Friday 10am- until finished. (typically, 1.5-2.5 hours daily)
PM Shift only:
- Monday through Friday 5pm-9pm (hours may fluctuate due volume)
Split Shift AM/PM:
- Monday 6am-until finished (usually 1.5-2.5 hours daily). Return and work 5pm – 9pm (hours may fluctuate due volume)
- Tuesday through Friday 10am- until finished. (usually 1.5-2.5 hours daily). Return and work 5pm – 9pm (hours may fluctuate due volume)
Skills and Qualifications
- Some warehouse experience a plus.
- Forklift experience a plus.
- Must possess keen attention to detail.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
