Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Drone Sales Associate role based in Portsmouth, VA. The Drone Sales Associate will engage with walk-in and scheduled customers, demonstrate drone and underwater ROV products, explain technical features, and recommend solutions that meet client needs. Daily tasks include answering product inquiries, preparing quotes, processing sales transactions, and maintaining accurate records in the sales system. The role also involves keeping the showroom organized, assisting with inventory checks, and supporting product demonstrations or training events as needed. The associate will collaborate with the technical team to stay current on product updates, industry use cases, and best practices for safe and effective drone deployment.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication abilities, including active listening and clear, professional interaction with a wide range of clients.
- Sales and retail experience, with skills in consultative selling, basic negotiation, and handling point-of-sale systems or CRM tools.
- Interest in or familiarity with drones, robotics, or related technology, including a willingness to learn product specifications and common commercial use cases.
- Basic technical aptitude for operating and explaining equipment functions, performing simple troubleshooting, and following safety and handling guidelines.
- Organizational skills for managing multiple customer requests, maintaining an orderly showroom, and supporting inventory tracking.
- Ability to work part-time on-site in Portsmouth, VA, including some evenings or weekends as business needs require.
