A non-profit membership organization, The Dominican Women's Development Center's mission is to empower women and families to advance gender equality and social justice. To this end, DWDC has developed a matrix of program services that include; Anti- Domestic Violence, Educational Development, a Home-based early head start Program, a Health Promotion Program, and a Day Care.
Position Description:
We are seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Program Director to lead and oversee community-based initiatives that promote social well-being, economic empowerment, and equitable access to services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about community engagement, skilled in program development, and committed to advancing the organization’s mission through collaborative leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of community service programs and projects.
- Provide individualized support and guidance to program participants, including assistance with personal development, resource navigation, and goal setting.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to strengthen program impact, including outreach strategies, service delivery models, and partnership development.
- Monitor participant progress and program outcomes; adjust strategies as needed to ensure effectiveness and responsiveness to community needs.
- Design and facilitate workshops, trainings, and group sessions on topics such as workforce development, financial literacy, health and wellness, and civic engagement.
- Conduct outreach to engage underserved populations and ensure inclusive access to services.
- Supervise program staff, interns, and volunteers; foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Uphold and promote the organization’s mission, values, and principles in all aspects of program leadership.
- Represent the organization at community events, coalitions, and stakeholder meetings.
- Mobilize program participants to engage in advocacy, community-building activities, and organizational initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support program growth and sustainability.
Qualifications and Knowledge Areas:
- Strong understanding of community development, social services, and nonprofit operations.
- Experience in program management, staff supervision, and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of key areas such as public health, education, housing, economic empowerment, and access to resources.
- Familiarity with grant writing, reporting, and compliance is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- College degree in social services, business administration, economics, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience.
- Skilled in MS Office.
- Strong communication skills.
- Committed to serving multi-ethnic communities that are majority immigrant or BIPOC
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
