Essential Instructional Responsibilities
Adjunct faculty are appointed on a course-by-course basis and are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, engaging students, and supporting achievement of course learning outcomes. Essential responsibilities include:
- Deliver course instruction consistent with the approved syllabus and learning outcomes.
- Prepare instructional materials, assignments, and assessments appropriate to the discipline.
- Foster an engaging and inclusive learning environment that supports student success.
- Submit grades and required academic records accurately and on time.
- Maintain reasonable availability to students, including scheduled office hours.
- Respond to student communications in a timely manner.
- Administer course evaluations.
- Follow university academic policies and student accommodation procedures.
- Coordinate with the Associate Dean and the Department Chair regarding course delivery and academic matters.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Economics or Master’s degree in Business Administration in a closely related discipline from an accredited institution..
- Demonstrated academic preparation and/or professional expertise appropriate to teaching undergraduate Microeconomics.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Economics or closely related discipline from an AACSB institution
- Prior college-level teaching experience.
- Experience teaching Economics in person or online, preferably in an asynchronous format.
- Experience using Canvas or another learning management system.
- Relevant professional or applied experience in economics.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $3,000–$4,000 per course
- Compensation is based on credentials, experience, course level, and credit hours.
- FLSA Status: Exempt, Part-Time (Adjunct Faculty)
Physical Demands:
- Ability to spend long durations of the workday sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
