Role Description The Accountant will work full time on-site in Gladstone, MO, supporting the firm’s clients with accurate and timely financial services. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, maintaining general ledgers, reconciling accounts, and assisting with tax preparation and planning for individuals and businesses. The role involves analyzing financial data, identifying variances, and providing clear, well-supported recommendations to clients and firm leadership. The Accountant will also collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, respond to client inquiries, and contribute to the firm’s culture of professionalism and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation.
• Experience with tax preparation and planning for individuals and businesses, including familiarity with federal and state tax regulations.
• Proficiency with accounting software and productivity tools (e.g., QuickBooks or similar platforms, Excel, and other office applications).
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide clear, actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a client-focused approach and the ability to explain complex financial concepts in accessible terms.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred.
• Prior experience in public accounting or a similar professional services environment is beneficial.
