Maintenance Mechanic
Summary
This position functions as a part of a maintenance team to ensure equipment is maintained and serviced to ensure smooth operation. Facility improvements are also a large part of the responsibilities for this position
Duties and Responsibilities
- Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment including motors, conveyor systems, ovens, fryers, and other production and packaging related equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance in a timely manner.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
- Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
- Helps maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders for inventoried parts used.
- Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Fabricates parts as necessary by using shop equipment/instruments
- Follows industry best practices, SOPs, and other safety guidelines
- Logs performed maintenance work through either paper documentation or a software
- Reads and interprets engineering blueprints.
- Inspects and assesses the functionality of production machines.
- Communicates with the production team and management in a positive, team-like manner.
- Follows GMPs while working in the production area.
- Helps production when instructed by supervisor or leads.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
