The Role 

Team Member Food Service  Are you ready to prepare from conception to execution compelling signature meals and catering that will become the beacon for change in the way Chicagoland eats? You will assist the Special Team Captain and Special Team Lead in Food Service creating memorable experiences through exceptional flavors and presentation of Dom’s Kitchen and Market’s unique offerings! As Food Service Special Team Members, you will work beside a dynamic Food Service team dedicated to delivering Talk of the Town Guest Service! 

 

Responsibilities 

Dom’s Kitchen & Market Team Members Food Service will work together in Food Service to support the Special Team Captain and Lead in Food Service with total Food Service responsibility that merges your love for people – both team members and guests – with operational excellence. You will be:  

  • Measured and rewarded by your ability to deliver Talk of the Town Guest Service, drive optimal Food Service teams’ performance and maintain Food Service operations 
  • Accountable for the extraordinary experience of your guests  
  • Responsible for engaging conversations with guests and ensure each guest receives an extraordinary Talk of the Town guest experience  
  • Focused on driving sales through technical expertise, fast paced momentum and innovative merchandising 
  • Expected to successfully train and continue development of expertise to enhance the guest experience and be part of the first-class Food Service tealeading to inspired Food Service teamwork creating an inviting atmosphere for guests 
  • Challenged daily with Food Service team to provide world class FRESH conditions and presentations including Quality of product, In-Stock, In-Code, product rotation, temperature checks, accurate labeling, scale accuracy 
  • Expected to assist with work duties across the Food Service department inclusive of prioritizing guest service, assist guests with product needs and product orders, breaking down deliveries, prep work/cooking/frying/baking, stocking tablescases and displays, cleaning, posting/monitoring shelf tags/signs for accuracy 
  • Responsible for food production, recipes are followed, food prep is consistent and technically accurate within budgeted ingredient cost goals, follow controls to minimize food and supply waste, follow appropriate repurposing of food waste 
  • Accountable for backroom and cooler logistics including minimal inventory levels, freshness dates and organization of product and supplies 
  • Responsible that the high standards of Food Safety and Sanitation are maintained at all times throughout Food Service sales floor, tables, cooler and backroom including regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment, tables, cases and shelves with organization and sanitation of all backrooms, food prep areas and supplies 
  • Listening for the Voice of the Guest to identify Food Service department trends for guest needs and expectations and counsel with Special Team Captain and/or Lead to integrate findings to deliver value and accelerate growth

Qualifications 

  • 1 years’ experience in restaurant, hospitality or retail preferred 
  • Experience with high-quality food production preferred 
  • Food Safety certification a plus 
  • Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills 
  • Experience using a Point of Sale System a plus 
  • Strong cognitive skills 
  • Competent with computer skills 
  • Sense of urgency, time management, prioritization and multitasking skills 
  • Detail oriented 
  • Ability to maintain composure, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment 
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays 
  • Strong sense of team – desire to WIN together with a first-class team! 
  • Full Time and Part Time available – Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings 

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities regularlyWalking, standing, kneeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions 
  • Walking/Standing 90% and sitting 10% of day 
  • Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas and/or products 
  • Physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force often and exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects 
  • Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures – walk-in coolers and freezers 
  • Exposure to chemicals and cleaning products 
  • Operating equipment (baler, compactor, power jack, six wheeler, box cutter) 
  • Familiarity with and the ability to utilize kitchen cutlery, slicers, blenders, gas-fired cooking equipment, griddles, chicken fryers, ovens, scales, can openers and other culinary tools.
