Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Boat Captain holding a 100 Ton license. The ideal candidate will be responsible for navigating and managing the boat safely while ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests. This role involves day-to-day vessel operation, safety compliance, and providing leadership on board. In addition to the base pay, the captain will have opportunities to earn additional income through concessions, making this position both rewarding and dynamic. Prior fishing experience is highly valued, as it enhances the ability to manage fishing activities and related operations effectively.
Duties
- Safely operate and navigate the vessel according to maritime regulations and company policies.
- Oversee all aspects of boat management, including maintenance, safety checks, and compliance with federal and state boating laws.
- Lead and coordinate crew members to ensure smooth daily operations onboard.
- Manage guest interactions, ensuring safety, comfort, and an enjoyable experience during trips.
- Conduct fishing activities when applicable, utilizing fishing experience to optimize success and safety.
- Oversee concessions operations to maximize revenue opportunities for additional earnings.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, safety procedures, and operational details.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or unforeseen situations with professionalism and expertise.
Qualifications
- Valid 100 Ton USCG Master License or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience operating boats of similar size and type, with strong navigation skills.
- Fishing experience is preferred to support fishing activities onboard effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, maritime regulations, and emergency procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
