Position Summary
The Youth Civic Engagement Intern (Peer Lead) supports the Dolores Huerta Foundation’s youth organizing efforts by conducting outreach, recruiting peers, and assisting with youth leadership development activities. This position is designed for high school juniors and seniors interested in civic engagement, community organizing, and leadership development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach to recruit and engage youth participants
- Support peer-to-peer recruitment efforts
- Mentor and welcome new youth participants
- Assistwith youth workshops and events
- Participate in leadership and public speaking development
- Maintain communication with the Youth Organizer
Qualifications
- High school junior or senior
- Interest in civic engagement or social justice
- Strong communicationskills
- Reliable and organized
- Available for occasional weekend activities
