Job Description

We’re looking for a creative, technically sharp video editor to make scroll-stopping short-form content that grows our audiences and keeps viewers glued from start to finish. The ideal candidate has successfully edited for a social media show (Instagram/TikTok/YouTube Shorts), understands retention-driven storytelling, and knows how to combine creative instincts with analytics to build audience loyalty.

Responsibilities
  • Edit highly engaging, retention-optimized content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, maintaining the brand’s voice and maximizing watch time.
  • Work across multiple formats: on-the-street interviews, comedic sketches, city guides, meme-style edits – bringing each concept to life in a way that feels fresh, fast, and social-first.
  • Apply advanced post-production techniques: keyframing, speed ramping, rotoscoping, masking, color correction/grading, creative sound design (audio spoofing, mixing, effects) and motion graphics to elevate each video.
  • Incorporate AI tools (e.g. image generation to video, transcription, voice cloning, generative fill, stock search, auto-captioning).
  • Manage multiple edits at once and consistently deliver cuts on time based on the defined output calendar.
  • Respond constructively to feedback and iterate quickly to get edits over the finish line.
Qualifications
  • 2 years editing short-form, social-first video for a successful series, brand, or creator with measurable audience growth (please provide portfolio links).
  • Expert-level Adobe Premiere Pro skills and proficiency with After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Bonus: Familiarity with Adobe Audition and/or DaVinci Resolve for color and sound.
  • Fluency in retention editing techniques, including hook construction, pacing, smash cuts, and punchline timing.
  • Strong grasp of internet culture, meme language, and trending formats — you know what will land with a Gen Z/Millennial audience.
  • Technical excellence in post-production workflows: media management, versioning, color spaces, and sound mixing.
  • AI-friendly mindset: experience using AI-powered tools to streamline or enhance editing is a plus.
  • Collaborative, self-starting, and deadline-driven, comfortable taking notes and working asynchronously with producers and creatives.
