Doing Better Protective Services US, LLC (DBPS) is a licensed Oregon security and investigations firm seeking dedicated Security Officers for retail, construction, event, and patrol assignments throughout the Portland metro area.
We are hiring for licensed officers and motivated candidates willing to complete the required DPSST training and certification prior to deployment.
Per Oregon state law (OAR 259-060), all Security Officers must hold a valid DPSST Unarmed Security License before working any post. No exceptions.
Who We're Looking For:
Licensed Candidates
- Active Oregon DPSST Unarmed Security License in good standing
- 1 year of verifiable security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred
- Available to begin immediately upon hire and background clearance
Pre-License Candidates
- Do not yet hold a DPSST license but are fully committed to completing certification before their start date
- Must demonstrate a stable, consistent work history — we verify all references and prior employment
- Must be self-motivated, reliable, and understand that deployment cannot occur until licensing is complete
- DPSST license reimbursement available after 6 months of continuous employment
What Every Candidate Must Have:
- Valid Oregon driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Stable employment history — frequent job changes are a disqualifier
- Strong written and verbal communication — incident reporting is a core job function
- Physical ability to meet the demands of patrol and site security work
- Commitment to a drug-free, zero-tolerance workplace
What You'll Be Doing:
- Patrol and monitor assigned retail, construction, and event sites
- Conduct access control, perimeter checks, and documented security rounds
- Observe, document, and appropriately escalate incidents
- Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency personnel when required
- Represent DBPS with professionalism at all client locations
