To efficiently and effectively oversee the pricing department and to assure that accuracy and integrity is withheld throughout the network while profitably growing the business; expected to provide valuable cost-based business analysis and serve as decision support for the Corporate Pricing function.

- Supervise the pricing department (including coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, reviews, etc.)
- Train and develop Pricing staff to develop and refine their skills
- Review and revise current processes to ensure timeliness of all assignments
- Consistently stay organized and manage concurrent deadlines.
- Coordinate data collection, manipulation, and navigate required systems monthly.
- Lead decision maker in pricing area
- Review & approve customer contracts and implement rate agreements once established
- Review and address tariff discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with Sales to develop customized pricing solutions for key accounts and large opportunities, balancing customer needs and company profitability.
- Conduct front end profitability analysis expectations and ensure those expectations were met once business has come onboard
- Work with Costing to understand cost model
- Work with Operations to understand operational constraints and opportunities
- Develop and maintain metrics to measure departmental efficiencies
- Support Customer Service to provide pricing support for quotes
- Deliver necessary reports to other departments as needed in a timely manner
- Identify opportunities for pricing process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Provide training and guidance to the sales team and other relevant departments on pricing strategies and tools.
- Perform other duties as needed
- Valid Driver License
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Strong math and analytical skills required
- Ability to interact with a variety of people
- Knowledge of MS Office applications preferred, experience with Excel required.
- Experience with pricing/costing models in transportation industry and with third party logistics companies preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and telephone etiquette
- Detail-oriented, organized
- Ability to multi-task and react to change productively
- Excellent attendance
- Primarily sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time
- May be occasionally required to exert up to 10 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- The general office environment is favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc;
- Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
- Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
- Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others
