Quality Systems Specialist
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Compensation: $27.88–$31.25 per hour – paid weekly
Schedule: Day shift | Monday–Friday

About the Opportunity
Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Quality Systems Specialist II for a medical device manufacturing company in Santa Clara, CA. In this short-term contract role, you’ll support key Quality Management System (QMS) activities to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal quality requirements. This opportunity is ideal for a quality professional looking to make an immediate impact in a regulated manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do as a Quality Systems Specialist II
- Initiate, investigate, and close Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMRs)
- Support investigations and root cause analysis for complaints, RMAs, and returns
- Coordinate and support CAPA activities, including corrective and preventive actions
- Escalate quality issues into the CAPA system based on trending and data analysis
- Maintain and update quality system documentation and records
- Present quality and product performance data to management as needed
- Support internal and external audits, including regulatory and customer audits
- Monitor and track key quality metrics and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Need to Bring to the Quality Systems Specialist II Role
- Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Technical field, or equivalent experience
- 2 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing or quality environment
- Working knowledge of GMP, ISO, and Quality Management Systems
- Experience with investigations, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Medical device or other regulated industry experience preferred
- Quality certifications (ASQ CQT, CQI, etc.) are a plus
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Office-based environment with moderate noise levels
- Regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, and computer use
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing areas, moving machinery, and noise
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
- Required use of PPE as designated by training or signage
