Duties
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, styling, and pet styling to meet client specifications.
- Handle animals with care and confidence, ensuring safe restraint and comfort during grooming procedures.
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other hygiene-related grooming tasks to promote pet health.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide advice on pet coat maintenance.
- Assist with animal handling during grooming sessions, including heavy lifting of larger or heavier pets when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and properly stored.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client questions, scheduling appointments, and fostering positive relationships.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in pet grooming, dog handling, or animal care; veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques, animal restraint methods, and pet coat styling.
- Familiarity with veterinary experience or veterinary assistant skills is advantageous for understanding pet health needs.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to perform pet nail trimming, pet sitting tasks, and handle animals safely during grooming procedures.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting of large or heavy pets as required.
- Additional skills such as dog training, equine experience or veterinary experience are beneficial but not mandatory.
