This is not an entry-level technician role. We are looking for a skilled professional with advanced, hands-on experience in anesthesia monitoring, ventilator management, surgical assistance, and emergency response within a specialty or critical care setting.
RVT credentials are valued but not required. What matters most is proven technical ability, sound clinical judgment, and the confidence to manage complex cases in a fast-paced environment.

As a Surgical & Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will work directly with board-certified surgeons and ER clinicians to deliver exceptional care before, during, and after complex procedures.
π¬ Surgical & Anesthesia Responsibilities
- Advanced anesthesia induction, intubation, and monitoring (ECG, capnography, IBP/NIBP, temperature, pulse oximetry)
- Manage and monitor ventilated patients
- Adjust anesthetic depth for high-risk and critical cases
- Maintain sterile surgical fields and provide intraoperative assistance
- Assist in orthopedic, neurologic, and advanced soft tissue procedures
- Provide detailed post-operative recovery monitoring and pain management
- Confidently assist during CPR and code events
- Rapid response in ER situations
- Support ICU-level monitoring and interventions
- Collaborate with ER and ICU teams for case continuity
- Remain calm, focused, and decisive in high-stress scenarios
- Accurate medical record documentation
- Surgical instrumentation management and sterilization
- Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards
Required Experience:
- 2 years in a specialty, ER, or high-volume surgical veterinary hospital
- Strong anesthesia and surgical nursing background
- Experience with ventilators and advanced monitoring equipment
- Confident assisting with emergency codes and critical cases
- Ability to transition between surgery and ER environments
- RVT/LVT/CVT credentials (not required)
- Experience in orthopedic or neurologic surgery
- Advanced ECC or anesthesia training
- RECOVER CPR certification
