What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pet Parent Relationship Specialist — Sales & Memberships position at Dogtopia of North Austin?
Dogtopia of North Austin
Dogtopia of North Austin is looking for a confident, relationship-driven sales professional who can turn first-time visitors into loyal, long-term customers so their pets can come play with us every day!
This is not a traditional front-desk or social media position. Your primary responsibility will be sales conversion and enrollment. You will lead conversations with prospective pet parents, recommend the right daycare plan, confidently ask for the sale, and follow up with leads who are not ready to enroll immediately.
The right person enjoys building relationships, working toward measurable goals, and helping pet parents understand how consistent daycare can benefit their dog.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role, not a department-management role. It is ideal for someone who has developed strong customer-facing sales skills and is ready to take ownership of enrollment and follow-up.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Meet & Greet pickup conversations and guide pet parents toward enrollment.
- Learn about each dog and recommend the right daycare membership or service plan.
- Clearly explain our programs, pricing, benefits, and expectations.
- Confidently ask for the sale and address questions or objections.
- Follow up with new leads by phone, text, and email until a decision is made.
- Re-engage past leads, inactive customers, and pet parents who have not scheduled another visit.
- Help increase daycare enrollment, attendance frequency, boarding reservations, and use of additional services.
- Track leads, customer conversations, and follow-up activity accurately.
- Build strong relationships with new and existing pet parents to improve retention.
- Support referral programs, promotions, community events, and other activities that help generate leads and enrollment.
What Success Looks Like
- More Meet & Greets converting into paid daycare enrollments.
- Consistent growth in new memberships and weekly attendance.
- Timely and persistent follow-up with every qualified lead.
- Strong retention and positive relationships with pet parents.
- Clear ownership of personal enrollment, follow-up, and conversion goals.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in sales, membership sales, customer retention, hospitality, retail, fitness, childcare, pet care, or another relationship-based business.
- Comfortable discussing pricing, handling objections, recommending a solution, and asking for a commitment.
- Motivated by goals, measurable results, and performance incentives.
- Warm, confident, and professional in person, over the phone, and in written communication.
- Organized, dependable, coachable, and able to manage multiple customer conversations.
- A genuine enthusiasm for dogs and the people who care for them.
Pet-care experience is helpful but not required. Strong sales instincts, consistent follow-through, and the ability to build trust are more important.
Schedule
- Primary schedule: approximately 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
- Saturday availability required, generally 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Occasional local events may require schedule flexibility.
Compensation
- Starting pay of $16 per hour.
- Performance incentives tied to enrollments, conversion, retention, and business growth.
